Govinda's Alańkāradarśinī is an outstanding contribution of Kerala to Sanskrit poetics. The text deals with both Śabdālańkāras and Arthālańkāras with self-authored examples related to Lord Krsna. Every verse of the text shows highest poetic merit. The erudite Govinda was born at the family called Cembolil near Ālangäd village at Ernakulam district of Kerala. It is known from literary evidences that he has authored about nine works in Sanskrit. Of them, there is no information available from anywhere about Alańkäradarśinī. At this juncture the discovery of the present work from the manuscripts repository of Kerala aims to enable the wisdom of knowledge to the academic world.
