K. S. Meenambal obtained his M. A. degree in Sanskrit - Special - Grammar from Kerala University in 1968 with first rank in the first class. In 1980, he also obtained his Ph.D. degree in Grammar. He served as Lecturer, Professor, Head of Department, and Principal of the Grammar Department at the Sanskrit Colleges of Thiruvananthapuram and Tripunithura from 1968 to 2001. Other important works -Nagesha and the Mahabhashya - English (a critical study of the Mahabhashya, written in the 2nd century B.C. Galithakusumam - Sanskrit (Sanskrit translation of the poem 'Veena Poovi' composed by Kumaranasan in the form of Vasantha Thilakam Vrikta), Aditya Hridayam - Malayalam (Song of the 105th verse of Valmiki Ramayanam Yuddha Kanda). Many articles of research importance have been published in English, Sanskrit and Malayalam. Under the supervision of Dr. Meenambal, research students have obtained Ph.D. degrees in Sanskrit grammar.)
